Dateline April 5, 2008: I write this a few days after our STUDIO TOUR 8, still amazed at the potency of this tour. My visitors stayed longer and conversations were deep, about how we live as artists, surrounded by these beautiful foothills. I found people just wanting to sit still, drinking green tea with my tabby cat in their laps with her loud squeaking purring sound. In all the sixteen years of producing this tour, something has shifted. The quality of participation at all levels--artist or visitor--was rich and expansive, warm and curious. Everyone seemed to want art for their collections (always profound for artists to have persons wanting to exchange money for art.) It was just different this year. And Three Rivers itself had an outstanding abundant bloom, early and profuse wildflowers just about everywhere.

For those of you who missed coming to STUDIO TOUR 8, don't despair, the studio tour will be held again in two years . In 2010, it will be an expanded timing of three days, not just two. We want you to come for the entire weekend so you can take several days to slowly visit these studios. There will be more artists on the tour in 2010, but even the ones that participate most years will be sharing their evolution with art making exploration and expression, never the same tour. It is intimate and you choose your own itinerary using the informative guidebooks and map.

If you were one of the visitors for 2008, or for any of the past years, I am interested in hearing your comments about your experience. Email me at the link below. I will post your comments on a forum coming soon on this website.
